Comic Relief
On Friday 13th March 2009, it was Red Nose Day. This year’s theme for Red Nose Day was “do something funny for money” so Park High dressed up in red and did something funny with their uniform.
Park High had planned to raise at least £300 for each charity and the charities were Comic Relief, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Action for Children. We had many activities going on to raise the money for example in the school canteen at lunch time there was a lucky dip, tombola, face painting, design your own cakes and the 6th formers had created a video for us to watch. There were other children who were doing something to raise money for the charities all by themselves. The sponsored silence was a popular way to raise the money. We spoke to one of the people doing the sponsored silence, Mo, after he completed it. He said, “It was difficult to keep quiet for the whole day, but since it was for charity I persevered.”
